Why Line 29?

I was 29 when I started my copywriting, copyediting and proofreading business. I was learning how to proofread for publishing, with exercises featuring numbered lines. One day the name popped into my head and refused to leave!

But before the business really had a chance to take off, a temporary proofreading contract with a contract caterer evolved into a full-time bid writing role.

Fast forward to summer 2020, when redundancy prompted me to restart the business. Except this time I can also use my experience to write bids that really focus on how clients will benefit from a company’s expertise. And I draw on those same skills to create compelling grant applications, that clearly demonstrate to a potential funder how their money will achieve their objectives and make a difference.

I offer a range of different services, but there is one thread running through them all: words. I love crafting words into a story that grabs the reader’s attention and making sure that a piece of writing is as clear and accurate as possible.

Living in Maidenhead, Berkshire, I’m a mum to a seven-year-old. I’m also an avid reader with at least one book on the go at any one time. A line of beautiful prose always stops me in my tracks, as does a stunning National Trust landscape, either locally or further afield.
